Broccolini’s partnership with Amazon continues to deepen as Broccolini helps the multinational expand its reach in Canada so it can offer its customers even faster and more reliable delivery.

Broccolini is acting as both the Development Manager and General Contractor for this latest facility, an Amazon Robotics Sortation Centre located in St. Thomas, Ontario. In these centres, the associates work alongside the robotics to sort and pack orders to ship for customers.

The new building features a surface area of approximately 2.8 million square-feet over 4 storeys, with a ground floor of roughly 700,000 sq. ft., 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of roughly 660,000 sq. ft. each (the robotics floors), and approximately 120,000 of mezzanine space. This fast-tracked project had a 12-month turnaround with a completion date slated for August 2022. The accelerated construction schedule required an average of 450-500 workers on site every day.

Once complete, this Amazon facility will bring roughly 1,500 new jobs to the city of London.
